I was tracking the left-hand bird at the time, so the other bird is a little out of focus. But I still like it for the action.

What a stunning photo Kev. You've caught the action perfectly. The slightly soft bird seriously doesn't matter as there is still detail.

Hi Kev

Myself I would have cropped the shot.  They are not attacking each other,  just two birds in the same shot.  I would,  as I say,  just have concentrated on the bird in focus.

Cheers M8

Brilliant Kev! I kept thinking of you when I was in  Spitsbergen, many amazing birds, but my HS10 was not up to catching most of them !

Wonderful capture, and for me, both birds in shot truly look as though they are fighting! Have you tried applying a sharpen effect on the bird you feel is too soft?

They make a great composition.   Could see that being a contender for Countryfile, but as you say, you weren't in a position to get the second bird quite sharp in the spur of the moment.

Great action shot Kev, the blur shows movement and direction I think if they were both in focus it would look unnatural.  Your photography has really come on leaps and bounds since you've gone dslr matey!  Great stuff!

brilliant photo I love to see birds of prey dancing in flight, I also cant see the blur, I'm too busy loving the picture some people can get one bird, but to capture two is stunning, keep up the fantastic work 10 out of 10.
