We had a good long talk with the Fuji guys at focus, and they got quite a bit of feedback about the site. Maybe if we stick stuff in this thread that members would like changing, adding or taking away, it could help them move the site forward?
- Multiple image delete for when removing things from your gallery.
- Multiple file "Send to TinyMCE", making it easier to create multi image blogs.
- youtube embed BBcode for those using finepix cameras video features.
- Photo blogs move to the top after comments or edits.
- Images by category. Think this was discussed at Focus, as a possible way to sort out the vast volume of images coming in, making it easier to browse.
- RSS feeds on forums, galleries and comps. Making it more accessible via news readers and feed apps.
Thankfully the new editor coding has meant that the comp comments sending you back to the home page, has now been fixed 
Another thing that has been partially fixed is the f5 issue, as a result of something else that was done with the site

I agree and would add to it a shop with discounted prices for Finepix's members cheaper than some internet shopping sites that sell Fuji stuff. With free pizza, a date with Glady's, oh yes and free holidays on Mount Fuji.

Access to Fuji shop, Multiple upload and delete of photos as Chris says, Images by category I mentioned this before the site went live, it would be so much easier. Photo of the week or month on the home page instead of the gallery.

LOL Angie. There were quite a few changes discussed on Monday, but it was a bit like a quick fire questions round lol. At least this way they are documented. Things are getting fixed and changed all the time, as can be seen from the update to the posting editor yesterday
. It's like anything else, it takes time to make sure one change doesn't effect a function or feature somewhere else. Better to take time, and work fully, than activate stuff that will mess the site up

What about an online status indicator underneath your avatar to let people know if your online or off line.

If they change it to 'comments bring the photoblog back to the top', the single photoblog will (I think) disappear Derek, and some folk do want to just write a lot and enter one photo.

How about only being able to up load 1 or 2 pictures a day to your gallery. It might stop the flood of pictures when someone seem to up load all the holiday snaps.

Would agree with the stars and was going to say something about the most viewed bit!
That the total views should be not shown under the photo but only on the members gallery.
Or that members own views should not count on the tally as on flickr
Perhaps then any members doing the old f5 trick would be put off doing it!

Bob, I can't see limiting the number of uploads to 2 per month working. Most people take more than 2 shots of any given subject. If someone wants to put 6 pics in their gallery, taken on a day out , they would have to wait 3 months to do it????????
I know there was an idea being thrown about where you could "follow" a member, so you could see when new pics have been added to their gallery etc. Think that may help with peoples photos being hidden among the 1000's being uploaded. And splitting the images in to categories will also help sort them out in to what people want to view.
There was also a change to the star system discussed, where it would be some kind of single vote system. That would mean each individual member added a single vote for an image (if they wished). The image would then accumulate votes as people voted for it, rather than getting a top 5 star after only a few votes with star system.

That's what blogs are for surely? Record your day out with as many pics as you like - then blog it!
There are way too many pics on the site at the moment - surely people should be encouraged to be a bit more selective rather than just bulk uploading what they have taken recently?
I've largely given up on CC because it takes too long wading through the gallery to find something I'm drawn to comment on ....
Anyway that's my opinion - I doubt Fuji will agree!

Perhaps we should have some sort of contact list as on flickr so that members with like minded tastes could give each other CC if needed and keep updated on thier latest uploads!
Same as flickr you can still see the overall latest uploads to give comments on the home page if you would like to do so!
but at least at the moment on here it is not 6000 a minute as on there!

And should be an alternate thingy with different members avatars not the cast of eastenders that can get a tad boring!

Too right - I'd suggest a limit of 12, on the lines of the old "six of the best" increased to one "page full". You can put in a day's shoot, if it's all that good - but would have to chuck out the same number after your "page" was full?

While we are on a roll there should be a "FindOut More" on the tags box and when you click on it it should expand to all tags with the most popular in bold like other sites
That are in turn clickeable to bring up the subject
