When taking macro shots what would be the best F number? Is a lower F better than a high.Same with ISO as this confuses me. I leave it set to 100 at the moment. The reason I ask as I don't think this looks sharp in places. Or am being to picky. Im using Agfa macro filters I got from EBAY. You can see some other shots i've taken in my blog.http://www.myfinepix.co.uk/blog/476287/476782

The Members' Exhibition Gallery is a place where you can post a copy of, and a link to, an image that you are pleased with. It is somewhere that, we hope, the excellence of the imagery produced by the members can be shown, and not lost in the masses of imagery that is posted each day. For that reason if you should see an image which is a gem, in your opinion, it would be good if you suggested to the photographer that they display the image here for us all to see. This is a place for us to share those special images and those special moments.

Afternoon all,I have a FuJi FinePix HS20 EXR & I am not very good with knowing what it can & can't do. I love taking Black & White Pictures so I was wondering if anyone would be able to advise me if I am able to take Black & White Pictures but to still have some colour in the photo - for example; the picture would be Black & White but anything that was blue would remain blue etc....I look forward to your responses.

Hi All,I went out last night to try to snap a certain subject....alas no luck,...I'll have to keep it secret....'til I manage to photograph one....he he...  anyhoooo, while I was out there I tried some hand-held HDR with the sunset clouds.  Managed to get a few quite clear ones...which was a surprise to me,...but I'm starting to realise whats going on with the metering in manual mode and can actually shoot the majority of the time in Focus...in Manual mode....lol

Just brought the Fuji JX420 and not sure if this is right or not ! When looking through the monitor to take a picture i keep getting pink stripes on the screen. I hae taken some pictures and it doesnt come out on the photograph but what is the reason for seeing the pink stripes ? Is this normal ? Does anyone else have this problem ? Would appreciate some feedback

A fun photo session can be had with a couple of table lamps and a CD. Oh and a couple of pieces of black card.Put the CD on a black surface with the lamps pointing at it from either side and snap. Try different White Balance and different light positions. You could also try a small torch or a Pringles Snoot (http://diyphotography.net/crossing-over-to-the-dark-field-has-never-been-easier) to add variety.Have a go and lets see what you come up with. If needed darken the blacks using Levels in Photoshop/GIMP/Picassa etc and voilà.

I just bought my first good camera.  A fujifim Finepix S4250.  I've been playing alittle bit with all the different settings however alot of my indoor shots are kinda "dingy" looking....not crisp like I would prefer them.  Any suggestions on a setting to choose to correct that?

Hi,    Just getting into photography and want to get reasonable indoor sports shots (Taekwondo events). I have an HS20 EXR camera and understand that it is not probably the best camera for indoor sports events, but would like to get the most out of this camera as possible (Budget won't stretch to a full DSLR). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Below is a couple of pics taken at a recent event, although the 'action' is caught the quality is very noisy. The settings used were:

Trying to figure out if it is possible to improve on my indoor concert shots. I posted 2 or 3 of the better ones that I got. I am only usuing a 2940 model which I know is not a dslr and not ideal for this kind of photography. I was happy with the shots that I did get, just wondered if there were any better settings that might make them any better next time around. Auto setting was useless inside with no flash...i went into manual mode with preference to the shutter speed and adjusted a little.

Hi everyone, as some of you have seen many of my photos have been taken outdoors using my new HS20 EXR and now with the addition of a Canon 1.5X telephoto converter just to get me that little bit closer. Now the bird hide, lets just say that I've made up my own 'large' hide but even though I know you will all laugh at my photo below it works!
