Simply Flowers.
As you may have already gathered by images in my gallery, I love taking photos of flowers. Here are just a few of my personal favourites.
I hope you enjoy viewing as much as I've enjoyed capturing them.

These are in no particular order. Thought I'd start with this clematis, captured in a friend's garden.

The next three are begonias, the first and third in a pot, which was given to me as a house warming present when I moved this year.

This one at a friend's house. It's not easy getting a good focus on these tiny flowers.

Had a go at colour popping with this one.

These are cornflowers, grown from wild seed in my daughter's garden.

A lovely subject in my view.

And I was often lucky in capturing the odd BOF too!!

I liked the angle of this one.

Well every garden has it's dandelions!

Horse Chestnut blossom made a superb display in the park just up the road.

Lilly of The Valley. Another beautiful flower that's not easy to capture.

But the smell is gorgeous as you get closer and closer!

Wild poppies, this yellow one just happened to have a bee inside!

Another wild poppy, this time a gorgeous orange.

This rose smelt gorgeous..

..however, this one as it was on it's way out, smelt just like cabbages!! Maybe that's one of the reasons it's called a cabbage rose!

More wild poppies.

Next some shots of a peace lilly, which I have, this one has a chrome effect from photoshop.

This one coloured foil

and this one is enamelled.

Some beautiful Cranesbil, I think...

..growing in the local park.

Getting in close and personal with a chysanth...

..which were in a bunch of flowers..

..bought for me.

Some more wild flowers grown from seed, including poppies.

I love poppies.

Not sure what this little thing was, caught between the wooden slats of the bench I was resting on in the park.

Gorgeous red berries which caught my eye.

A simple daisy.

Michaelmas daisies, complete with bee.

Auricular.

Zooming in on an Auricular.

The next few are Gazanias. They were absolutely blooming in my friend's garden this year.

All kinds

and all colours

Just couldn't stop capturing them.

Thought this one deserved some special treatment. So put it on a black background.

Back to my park and some wild roses.

These next couple of captures of an orchid, which is starting to sprout again, are amongst my favourite favourites.

This one especially.

Pansies used to be my dad's favourites.

These looked like they were smiling at me.

I just had to include some leaves. Starting with these from a maple tree, yes you guessed it, in the park.

Then during the autumn, there were a lot more opportunities.

As they were floating everywhere.

I had to zoom in on this one on the same horse chestnut tree as had the blossom earlier.

And this maple.

And this......??????????

And these.

And to finish, being as I started with a clematis, thought I would finish with that same clematis in seed.
Well so there we have it. Some of my favourite flower and leaf shots of 2011, and one of my favourite subjects.
Thanks for stopping by.

What a cheery sight to see on a cold windy January night. I have seen some of them before, of course, but to see them all put together like this, makes for a smashing photoblog. Just like taking us through the seasons of last year.
