FinePix HS20EXR
Have Bus Pass Will Travel
For once the weathermen got it right and woke up to a glorious day a bit chilly but lovely so out I went with my trusty HS20EXR and jumped on a bus

Set off passing the RNLI National fundraising day

The Plymouth wheel looking fabulous, glistening in the sunshine

Setting off from Bretonside Bus Station

First port of call is Torquay with the well known Princess Theatre

Fancy a boat ride?

will have to wait a couple of months

How about a walk along the Harbour instead

An HDR of the Harbour

What about a bit of fishing

Or you could just walk along to the end of the harbour wall

A Panorama of the Harbour

as you walk into town you pass this lovely fountain

and then the Pavilion shopping centre, just the place to buy magnetic bracelets

Do Not Feed the Gulls and put your rubbish in the bins (Don't be taken in by those feed me eyes)

We British are a strange lot, a couple of degrees off freezing but the sun is out so we must sit outside and look like we are enjoying it even if wrapped up tightly

A newly cleaned clock tower on the strand

Next a short bus ride to Paignton

For a walk along the pier

or under it if you like

got to dress properly when taking the dog for his daily exercise you never know who maybe watching

"I'm sure I dropped my 50p around here"

Another great tradition "I'm by the seaside I must sit in a shelter and eat chips"

This according to the signs

will look something like this, not sure how long for though

Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway opens next month looks like major building work on the main building

The 3rd bus of the day and the main point of the day out is to Brixham

A Replica of the Golden Hind

must have been a bit crowded, it aint that big

Brixham is still a major fishing port as this impressive fish market shows

An old Brixham fishing boat being restored

I'm really getting into this HDR lark

Crab Pots a'plenty

Memorial on the Harbour Wall

Could do with a new paint job

That's a better one

A Mosaic by one of the local schools
That brings my trip to a close, a bus back to Paignton then bus home

A trip to the seaside is such a tiring day

Brilliant little adventure trip Martin ~ I felt I was on the trip with you as it unfolded and no wonder a tiring day. You captured it all so well considering the time of the year and the weather conditions. Some outstanding photos. Thanks for compiling and sharing.

Martin, you didn't even wave. If you came on the bus you passed my house twice. And why did you bother with Torquay? It's only there so the people of Paignton have something to look at. (Quote: Spike Milligan)
Nice blog mate, hope you enjoyed Paignton
Alison: The weather is the same year round. A bit more rain during the summer months though.
