Ladies and Juniors Autograss racing Nationals @Scunthorpe 4th&5th September 2010
AUTOGRASS is Britain’s most popular form of amateur motor racing. The sport takes place at around 50 venues throughout England, Wales and Northern and Southern Ireland.
AUTOGRASS is car racing, usually on quarter-mile dirt oval tracks. Although highly spectacular to watch, it is first and foremost a participant sport. Meetings are promoted by non-profit making clubs, which are affiliated to the governing body, the National Autograss Sports Association (NASA). The tracks are laid out on natural surfaces (usually a farmer’s field) - a fresh track will start off as grass, but that won’t last long! The track will be constructed by club members the day before the event, and the racers are also expected to help out with the organisation on the day.
This is a true family sport – anyone can take part. Junior drivers may start racing at 12 years old, moving into the adult classes at 16, and some drivers are racing competitively well into their 60s and 70s. Ladies’ races are held at every meeting and the sharing of cars between family members is encouraged.
AUTOGRASS is the affordable motor sport. You can race in the most basic classes (such as Class 1, for standard 1000cc Minis with only safety modifications) for an initial outlay of under £500 and minimal running costs. There are ten classes of car ranging from production saloons, through progressively wilder Modified machinery to the super-fast single-seat Specials. Even in the top classes, however, budgets will be significantly less than those required to be competitive in Circuit Racing, Oval Racing, Rallying or Rallycross.

Hi Suzy
Well yes, you have placed multiple photos and that part of doing a photoblog, you have spot on. So far so good. ( some great shots too).
Now all you have to do is add some narrative about the event, where and when etc and then along with each shot just add some text so that the piccies and the text build up a story of the day or event.
I struggled in the beginning to make them interesting but, with the help of members, soon picked it up and although I say it myself, they were OK. I have not done one for a while but intend to when I return from my hols which begin in the morning. (off to Spain for 16 days).
Don't get me wrong, there are no hard and fast rules about the construction or content which constitutes a photoblog, but, those that over time have been more "accepted" have followed that format.
Just take one of my own entries in the Photo Features section for example, the link is:
http://www.myfinepix.es/article/117/124537
Start off with a short intro, follow that with some shots, each having a bit of explanation and then just a short summary. Mine is by far, not the best posted here but, it does give an example or basis for an idea by yourself.
I hope I have been of some help to you along with Angie D's instructions of how to do all the inserts/saving etc.
Like I say, there are no hard and fast rules at all but I think you will agree that the sort of format shown is more acceptable than just a string of photos with no running dialog.
Thanks and best of luck to you.
Cheers
Steve

great effort for your first go.
maybe next time you could add some text to explain the pictures a bit?
We had a friend who used to race Bangers up in Cumbria,we have to make do with the North Circular especially round hanger lane
you might want to post your blog on the forum too or it will quickly get bumped off the front page by those pesky single pictures.
best wishes
Regards
Cesar and Dave

Great action photo blog - some great shots. What Steve Ransome says is right about the narrative
It might help you to think about what you would tell me as a stranger to the sport. You don't have to answer all the questions but I bet you can!
This sort of information would be interesting to me as I enjoy motor sport. You can press the edit tab at the top of your photoblog and insert a narrative. If you do put a comment in the Forum and people will look again.
Good luck I hope you carry on blogging. The site needs people who can produce quality blogs and I think you will.

I think you have done it now - - - - Brilliantly.
I am glad you have stuck with it. I know it takes some effort but your excellent narrative has brought the whole thing to life and created a new interest in the pictures.
I have this moto, 'the pictures are there to illustrate the narrative and the narrative is there to illuminate the pictures'. You have done it really well.
