The World Around Us (Alexandra Park Hastings)
Well as my first photoblog on The old Town Hastings went down so well i thought i would post another one but this time on my favorite place to walk around with my camera "Alexandra Park"
The park opened in 1882 in its earliest form and has obviously changed over the years but essentially covers 110 acres and stretches 2 1/2 miles from silverhill to hastings town centre, There are several ponds/reservoirs of which the biggest at the northern end is Buckshole reservoir where i often go to photograph the pair of swans and Herons it is also where alot of fishermen go, The southern end nearest Hastings Town is more family oriented with playpark, cafe, bandstand, bowling green and smaller duck ponds.
I know enough info already show us the pics!! lol
The following pics are just a few taken in and around the park over the last month or so!

This is Buckshole reservoir at the northern end of the Park

Pretty duck on the reservoir!

One of my favorite and most photographed subjects at the reservoir!

This small Gull was sitting pretty at a place called Harmers Pond

One of the Grey Herons

Just one of the huge trees in the park!

I shall call this "Synchronised Preening" :)

I took this at the bottom of one of the streams after a torrential nights rain!

In to the lower half of the park now where there are some ornamental gardens etc

Morning dew on ornamental grass

I'll be honest i don't know what this is but was mighty purdy!!

Typical winter scene with little Robin in the Holly Tree

Macro of the same Holly Tree

Duck on one of the smaller ponds in the lower park

Gorgeous colour of this weeping willow!

You can't stroll through the park without the obligatory Squirrel shot eh?

Another one of my swan pics

This heron shot was actually taken in one of the smallest ponds in the main park!
Well thats it for now i hope you like this very small selection of the hundreds of pictures i have taken in the park!
It is obviously difficult to decide how many pics are too many to include and to not become to boring for you all,
Thanks again
Regards

You have a wonderful blog, you have some stunning photographs. I'm a sucker for a robin and a squirrel shot! I hope I'll get up to your standard one day. Do you do much afterwork and would you recommend a software program if you do?
