My gorgeous new Z30

I am currently at university in my final year and like to get snap happy when I am out with my friends, if it’s having a drink by the lake or on a night out. The Z30 caught my eye because it is very snazzy to look at and is also rather sleek in comparison to the Z3 which I have owned for the past couple of years. The size is small so it can fit into my handbag on a night out and on a daily basis without any trouble and it is very light so that I can have it dangling on my wrist at the ready! Many of my friends commented on how good my lovely new camera looks! The range of colours is also great, the orange one caught my eye the most, I love that it is a bit garish and bright, a different colour to other cameras on the market.
Locating the buttons and the function of the camera is very easy, the buttons are on two rows on the right hand side and finding the black and white mode (which I consider essential as it is much more flattering than colour, especially after a few too many drinks and when dancing and sweaty). The lens cover slides across very smoothly, which turns the camera on – very cool!

The scene recognition is the best feature of this camera; it saves lots of time faffing around trying to locate the right button for the scenario as it automatically does it for you. The face detection comes in very handy with the kind of photos I take and the anti blur means my pictures have greater clarity than before. I haven’t used the self timer function yet however you can select couple or group timer so this will come in very handy on holidays so that everyone can get into the photo. The movie mode is lots easier to use than my previous camera, all it requires is one press of a button and the video is being taken, this is a perfect way of catching some funny memories in my final year of uni.

The blog mode on this camera is fantastic, not only does it trim the photos to make them a size that is easy to upload onto Facebook but the blog mode allows you to play with the photos you have taken and change them look illustrated, into sepia and many other possibilities. Another good function is that you can ‘protect’ photos that you have taken so they don’t become deleted by accident. It is also possible to record voice memos to go with pictures to remind yourself of something or just for fun!

The charging unit in which you pop the camera battery in is a lot more compact than the old charging unit; this makes it much easier and lighter for travelling. The USB connection is also lots smaller then previously which helps minimise clutter in my already very messy room.
I love my new Z30; it’s so very easy to use which means I can take good photos without any trouble. The camera’s features make it so much fun to use and give it an edge over other cameras available. This camera will be the perfect way to catch the memories that will stay with me forever.

Party princess!

Hi Princess

As you can tell, not too many folk come over into this section and I for one should feel guilty about that.

I see you posted this a long time ago and noone as far as I can tell has responded. Perhaps if you do another one, you could stick a post in the general UK chat forum, just pointing folk this way. That might get a better response.

I hope you are continuing to enjoy photography and again I myself apologise for not seeing this great post earlier.

Cheers XX

PS I have just noticed that this is in the interview section, perhaps that's how folks missed it.???

I  have just purchased  a Z70 and have had trouble with it. Maybe you could put me right.

I had discovered the time am & pm were back to front and maybe that was part of the trouble, because when I took photos inside with a dark background, they came out  with hardly any colour.I also nioticed that night came up on the camera. i've now changed the time. I also found the pictures not clear at all. What do you mainly use as a setting? I had mine on 12 m and they weren't clear at all, which was disappointing.  I've done lots of photography and always had great results. My last camera was a Z30, but wore it out, it was fantastic.

I will play around in the meantime to see if I can rectify things.

have a great final year at UE.

God Bless

Merle

Hi princess,

I have now conquered my Z70 and thanks to you giving me the confidence, just by reading your comments.

I have  found Auto better than SR for where I am, it was cvoming in with night during the day and I'd never struck that before.

Thanks again

Merle
